Customs Clearance
For custom clearance, prior preparation of documents is important. Many Japanese moving and transport agencies that provide international delivery services assist shippers with customs clearance.
Documents usually required for customs clearance are: a valid passport, a Customs Declaration Form for unaccompanied goods, an on-board endorsement bill of lading (B/L), a packing list (of things included in your packages), receipts from local stores for items purchased in Japan, and animal/phytosanitary certificates issued in a country from which the animal or plants are originally produced if these animals or plants are subject to any animal infectious disease control laws/phytosanitary regulation control laws.
Prior preparation of necessary documents for customs clearance will prevent extra charge and for extra work from arising later on.
