International Carriage of Luggage
International carriage of goods may take 4 forms; “hand-carried luggage,” “luggage checked in at the check-in counter,” “shipment by AIR,” and “shipment by SEA.” The type of international carriage of goods may differ depending on the amount, size, and shape of the luggage, as well as the length of time allocated for shipping.
Baggage taken onto the aircraft by passengers is called “hand-carried luggage”. If that exceeds the limit of free hand-carried luggage allowance decide by each country of departure or airline, it should be checked in at the check-in counter.
With “Shipment by AIR”, it takes only around 10 days for packages to reach the sender’s residence in their home country, so it is a suitable method of international carriage for things that may be needed soon after their arrival. “Shipment by SEA” is suitable for safely carrying furniture and other household goods that are heavier and will not be needed immediately.
